Mazda RX-8 1.3L (03-12) DNA High Performance Clamp On Filter Stage 2

This new unique DNA Clamp-On Filter is developed in co-operation with EasyTuning, a Mazda RX-8 Specialist located in Greece.

Designed to be installed "inside" the air box replacing the stock panel filter.

Installing a Clamp-On Air Filter "inside" the stock air box, noise levels are maintained low and the application remains legal for road use as long as the air box is kept closed.
At the same time Power, Torque and throttle response are increased.

Installation of this new DNA Stage 2 Clamp-On Air filter is very easy; simply follow the installation 'step by step' instructions included with the DNA filter

The filtering efficiency1 is extremely high at 98-99% filtering efficiency (ISO 5011), with 4 layers of DNA Cotton.

The flow of this new DNA Stage 2 Clamp-On filter is 13.78% more than the MAZDA stock panel filter!

DNA Stage 2 Clamp-On air filter flow: 193.10 CFM(Cubic feet per minute) @3"H2O corrected @ 25degrees Celsius.

MAZDA stock panel filter: 169.70 CFM(Cubic feet per minute) @3"H2O corrected @ 25degrees Celsius.

This DNA S2 filter is designed as a High flow Air filter for:'Road & Race use'.

Fuel recalibration is suggested.

DNA Mazda RX-8 Stage 2 Application

The DNA Stage 2 RV-95-155-RX8 is designed to replace the stock air filter and increase the Airflow, Power, Torque and Throttle response.

The Unique feature of this 'clamp on filter' is that it is designed to be installed 'in' the air box and the car remains legal for road use(as long as the air box remains closed)

Attention!! The Installation must be carried out by a qualified mechanic.

 

The following procedure is necessary to install the DNA S2 Air Filter

1.Remove the stock air box from the car.

2.Open the air box and remove the stock air filter.

3.Disconnecting the front side of the air box makes the procedure easier.

4.Inside the air box there are 2 plstic, dividing, plates that must be removed.

5.Unscrew an remove the right one...

6. ...and the left one.

7.Now carefully unscrew and remove the plastic intake with the "D" shaped intake trumpet.

8.Remove the plastic intake from the air box and....

9.carefully using a straight screwdriver,the "D" shaped trumpet so it disengages from the body.The trumpet is held in place by 3 locking plastic tabs and one locating tab.

10.Once you have freed the trumpet, remove it completely including the wire mesh.

 

 

11.The parts below marked with the "X" will not be used.

12.Remove it completely including the wire mesh.

13.Carefully clean and...

14.re-install.

15.Align the groove of the filter with the rip of the intake.

 

Important note! This DNA 'clamp on' filter is designed to fit specifically the RX8, the internal diameter of the filter has a very special design that adapts to the design and locking tabs of the plastic intake tube.Therefore it must not be used for any other application.Clamping this filter on a normal 'smooth' tube, it will not seal properly and debris will pass through to the engine

16.Push the DNA filter "down" to lock in place.

 

17.Tighten the inox clamp using a flat screwdriver.

 

18.You have completed the installation of the filter.

 

19.Important Note!The parts bellow will not be used any more.

 

20.Close the air box and install it in the car.

Note:If the installation of the DNA Stage 2 filter is correct the air box should look as the photo below:

Follow the above procedure each time you service the filter.Filter should be serviced approximately every 6.000-9.000km.

Use the dedicated DNA Service Kit DSK-2001 (sold separately) to clean and re-oil, following the instructions included with the service kit.
